English Immersion Holidays on the Jurassic Coast

Individually tailored week-long breaks in Sidmouth, East Devon

During the week we will spend each morning talking, reading, writing about and discussing aspects of English language and culture. You will be able to set the pace yourself and enjoy learning in a relaxed and informal way, hearing English spoken and practicing it yourselves. Each afternoon we will visit places of beauty and interest: the coast, the  local pretty villages and other beautiful and historical places. We can walk the cliff paths, or sit on the beach. Only English will be spoken.

You can also sample some local traditional food: fish and chips, cream teas or Devon pasties.

The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site, spanning millions of years

Sidmouth is a quiet  Regency seaside resort with individual shops, and attractive gardens. There are thatched cottages in the surrounding villages, with wooded hills behind.

The towns of Lyme Regis and Exmouth are  worth visiting, as is Exeter, a cathedral city.

Each week during the summer months there are two excellent plays at the local theatre.

The week’s activities will be tailored to your individual interests and wishes.

Group size will be between 3 and 8 people.

I will arrange accommodation for you from a range of comfortable en-suite hotels on the sea front to cheaper places in the town or surrounding villages. You can choose either bed and breakfast or half-board.

Travel: You arrange and pay for your own flight, train or coach and we will pick you up from the local bus/train stations or Exeter airport.

It is essential that you have travel insurance.

Charges to include:

English sessions each morning, hostess services, all transport and theatre tickets

£200 per person per week.

You pay for your own food and accommodation.

Angela Bea has lived in East Devon for the last 9 years. A mother of three, she has worked as a Nurse, Midwife and Therapist and has a deep interest in people and their varied cultures,having herself travelled widely. She speaks German and some French.

She hopes to care for you, and enable you to come to a broader understanding of England and English culture and customs, whist helping you to enjoy a relaxed and varied holiday in this beautiful part of England.
